Virus Detritus
Living in Reading, I am used to seeing the streets littered with all sorts of rubbish, it’s a dirty old town at the best of times. Now it’s the worst of times and I’ve been noticing a change in the pavement litter as I take my dog for her daily walk. Everywhere you look there are discarded gloves and facemasks among the usual fag ends and fast food wrappers. In normal circumstances I tend to pick up bits of rubbish wherever I go, it’s like a nervous tic but I daren’t touch this stuff so it’ll lie there until it gets washed into the drains or blown onto the fields. It’s depressing. So while I can’t get out to work I’ve been documenting the state of the streets around West Reading and hoping that life gets back to some sort of normality very soon.
